How soon can the floor be used after the Retro Plate concrete polishing system process is finished?
No drying time is needed with the Retro Plate concrete polishing system. The floor can be used immediately.

What length of time is necessary for the treated floor to mature or cure completely?
After the process is finished and the level of shine achieved, the floor will continue to mature for several months. The dust-proofing aspect and ability of the new floor to repel tire marks will normally be apparent right away. The chemical reaction that results in increased hardness of the floor occurs over a period of time. Three to four months' time is necessary for the floor to become impervious to water, and slightly more time for the floor to resist oil.

What is the best way to clean the floor until it matures?
Normal clean-up with plain water is sufficient. If oil is spilled, it should be cleaned up as soon as possible with a solution of water and detergent.

Can new concrete be treated with the Retro Plate concrete polishing system?
Yes; however, new concrete should be at least 28 days old before the process takes place.

Are there places where the Retro Plate concrete polishing system is not the best choice?
The Retro Plate concrete polishing system should not be used in situations where strong acids or acid vapours come in contact with the floor surface, i.e., battery charging, chemical processing and containment areas. An acid-resistant coating is a better choice for these situations.

How long does the Retro Plate concrete polishing system process take to apply and how much does it cost?
There are factors to be considered that will affect both the time frame and the expense. These include:
  • Roughness of the original surface
  • Removal of old coatings
  • Availability of area to be processed
  • Items to work around, i.e., racking and equipment
  • Level of shine requested
  • Size of the area and number of moves
  • Any waste disposal costs
BNE Contractors Inc. will take into account the above-mentioned variables and will provide you with a quotation after visiting your facility and an option for a test patch.

How close can the Retro Plate concrete polishing system get to walls and racking?
The Retro Plate concrete polishing system can be applied to within approximately 1 to 1 ½" of perimeter obstructions and walls.

What does the 10-year limited guarantee include?
BNE Contractors Inc. warrants its application of the Retro Plate concrete polishing system to be free of defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service of the system for a period of 10 years from the installation date. If the Retro Plate concrete polishing system fails to perform as indicated as per its advertised claims and benefits, BNE Contractors Inc. will provide the necessary labour, materials and equipment to re-apply a standard application of Retro Plate concrete polishing system.

The foregoing warranty to re-apply a standard application of Retro Plate concrete polishing system concrete polishing system is the only warranty, either expressed, implied or statutory, upon which the said application is sold. All other damages, liabilities or warranties, statutory or otherwise, are hereby expressly waived.

Can I get oil or fats out of a concrete floor without replacing the slab?
Koester Oil Removal System is a revolutionary coatings system in the Concrete Rehabilitation industry. This system will allow a concrete slab to be deep cleaned and re-coated in a consistent and professional manner with a full 10- year manufacturer's warranty. The term "system" is used frequently to describe the ORS because it is just that, a complete system. It is not just a degreasing process nor a just another oil containing coating, but an engineered system designed for maximum deep substrate oil cleaning and an epoxy topping that will provide a lasting barrier against any further oil migration. Before ORS the only way to ensure that a coating would not fail on a previously oil contaminated slab was to replace the slab.  Click here to read more...
